Course Objectives 1. To discuss the modernity phenomenon,
2. To follow the influences of modernity on visual arts,
3. To interpret the modern art as cultural value besides aesthetic value.
Course Description Introduction to modern times and definition of modernity, determining the case in Turkey, influence of Industrial design on visual culture and new developments, reflections of western culture in Turkey and development process; criticism of modernity and transition to postmodern; innovation in Turkish art.
Course Outcomes Students will be able to,
1.Evaluate art object as aesthetic object, Evaluate art object ascultural object,
2Comprehend modernity through of art object,
3.Learning the role of cultural change on the form and meaning of art,
4.Read the deconstruction of modernity in the twentieth century,
5.Comprehend today through its formation process,
6.Analize the reflections of all these developments in turkish arts.
