Course Objectives
1. Distinguishing the difference between the acts of “seeing” and “looking”.
2. Developing interpretation skills by analysis and synthesis.
3. Perceiving the nature, objects and art objects with a distinguished awareness.
4. Seeing and seizing the beautiful and aesthetic aspects in life.
Course Description
Teaching fundamental visualization techniques and concepts for improving the analysis and synthesis skills of students as the difference between “seeing” and “looking” is priorly emphasized.
Course Outcomes
1. The acquisition of the ability to approach to artistic products, the nature and beauty of life consciously.
2. Revealing artistic point of view, know-how and personality on objects of art.
3. Developing skills for perceiving, designing, drawing, colouring and composing what is seen in a right way.
4. Acquisition of general knowledge about the history of painting in Turkey and in the world.
5. Visiting important exhibitions in art galleries of Istanbul.
