SBP 356E - Remote Sensing

Course Objectives

o To acquaint the student with the physical principles underlying remote sensing systems and the primary remote sensing data collection systems,
o To introduce the student to methods of interpreting and analyzing remotely sensed data,
o To provide some insight concerning the applications of remote sensing in various discipline areas,

Course Description

: Principles of Remote Sensing, Application of remote sensor systems in earth science and other disciplines; digital image processing (preprocessing, enhancement, classification, post classification analysis, special transformations, multi-temporal data analysis for change detection); photo interpretation; study of spectral characteristics of vegetation, soils, water, minerals, and other materials.
