SBP 245E - Urban Transportation

Course Objectives

The course aims to give the basic theoretical information about urban transportation, from the main transportation decisions to the design scale.

Course Description

The characteristics of transportation systems, the relationship between transportation, urban form and land use, basic principles and methods of transportation planning, road hierarchy, transportation master plans, intersection design principles, car parking planning and design principles, pedestrian and bikeway planning and design, traffic calming methods will be explained with different cases from all over the world and empowered with in-class exercises.
