MIM 4019 - DETAIL DESIGN AND PRINCIPLES

Course Objectives

1.Decreasing the failure and material loss at the design and practice
2.Enabling the design of building components and elements by taking care of the influence of required and available circumstances.
3.Ability to select the suitable building material regarding to the material attributes, detail generation process and sustainable criteria.

Course Description

Relationship between whole design and detail. Factors affecting detail design: functions, materials, forces, behaviour, I and W momentum, Stability, Elasticity, Rigidity, Joint principles, Technology and Production process, Utility, Feasibility, Economy and Aesthetics. Materials and their properties. Joint materials, Analysis of a functional whole regarding to the parameters for detail solving. Detail design based on requirements.
