Course Objectives 1. Teaching mass production of jewellery design is as a matter of industrial design
2. Teaching techniques of jewellery materials and production.
3. Enhance the ability to make models and prototypes with metal techniques.
Course Description Teaching traditional and industrial production techniques, of jewellery with projects. Applied workshops emphasizing on contemporary and self-expressed jewellery design and production which are suitable for today’s jewellery industry. Tools and machinery in the workshop. Surface application techniques. Metal forming and shaping techniques: Joining, casting, mechanisms.
Course Outcomes Student, who passed the course satisfactorily can:
1. Learn jewellery making techniques and apply them. This helps students experience how production effects design process.
2. Work on the ergonomics of a wearable product.
3. Gain experience and knowledge of working on a material, especially metals. Be included in all levels of creating a product by working on both design and production.
4. Learn about bigger scale production by field trips.
