EHB 372E - DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING DESIGN and APPLICATIONS

Course Objectives

The objectives of this course are to give the students a better understanding over fundamental and advanced concepts on digital signal processing, and to improve their ability to design and to realize advanced digital signal processing algorithms and systems.

Course Description

Introduction to digital programming (MATLAB);
Discrete-time signals and systems;
Discrete-time convolusion;
Difference equations and transient behavior;
Systems and frequency domain representation of linear-time invarient systems; frequency responses;
Discrete-time Fourier transform (DTFT) and Discrete Fourier transform (DFT);
Fast Fourier transform (FFT) and its applications;
Introduction to statistical signal processing;
Spectrum estimation;
Filter design;
Simulation and applications with real data.
