Course Objectives 1. To familiarize students with the other electrical machines which weren’t taught at the compulsory machine courses
2. To introduce how these special machines are constructed and work
3. To show different applications of these special machines
4. To train students how to approach engineering problems
5. To train students to prepare oral presentations and written reports
Course Description Synchronous-asynchronous motor, Double-fed asynchronous motor, High frequency motors, Linear machines, Brake Motors, Motors with exterior rotors, Vibration motors, Drum motors, Single phase kommutator motor, Multi phase commutator motor, Schrage Motors, Reluctance Motors, Hysteresis
Motors, Step motors, Permanent magnet motors, Electrical motors with combustion systems
Course Outcomes Students will be able to,
1. gain an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering principles
2. learn a knowledge of the other motors which is not given to students in compulsory courses but used in industry
3. gain an ability to design an electrical system, component, or process to meet desired needs
4. function on teams
5. improve an ability to identify, formulate, and solve electrical engineering problems
6. to communicate effectively in both oral and written fashion
7. gain a knowledge of contemporary issues and their impact on engineering profession
8. to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for electrical engineering practice
