ELK 472 - Renewable Energy Systems

Course Objectives

Increasing energy demand, depletable fossil fuels with their adverse effect on the environment and the governmental regulations of clean energy sources lead to an increase usage of renewable energy systems around the world. The aim of this course is to provide necessary knowledge about the technologies related to utilization and characteristics of wind, solar, wave, biomass, geothermal, and small hydroelectric energy resources along with energy storage systems. This course also shows that these renewable energy sources are economically viable, environmentally sustainable alternatives to the world’s energy resources.

Course Description

Information about technologies related to usage of renewable energy sources, major installations in Turkey and worldwide for wind, solar, wave, biomass, geothermal, small hydroelectric power plants and energy storage systems used with these type of intermittent power supplies.
