Course Objectives The aim of the course is:
1. To give basic microeconomics knowledge and approaches to the students and,
2. To make them understand economic agents’ (firms and households) behaviors.
Course Description The main aim of this course is to give students a solid grasp of main issues in microeconomics at introductory level using both graphical and algebric techniques. The students are expected to be able to apply main tools and concepts to the study of contemporary economic problems.
Course Outcomes A student, who has completed this course successfully, is expected to display
I. Knowledge of and ability to use the basic concepts and tools of economic analysis;
II. Understanding of market mechanism and ability to analyze the impact of changes in economic environment on the market;
III. An ability to understand and evaluate the impact of individual economic agents on the market and the impact of the market on these agents;
IV. An ability to evaluate the pricing and production decisions of firms in different market structures;
V. Knowledge of the basic concepts of strategic thinking.
