END 318 - Systems Dynamics

Course Objectives

Nonlinear systems are our era’s systems. The analysis and improvement of these systems by classical industrial engineering methods and tools is not possible. Delayed feedback systems having complex behaviors can be analyzed and managed by system dynamics. An industrial engineer aiming to improve systems’ performance, can improve his/herself by using system dynamics.

Course Description

History and place in scientific evolution of system dynamics, definition of system dynamics approach, study of methods and application areas. Forming of influence and flow diagrams, which are basic steps of system dynamics approach. Preparation of Dynamo equations. Positive and negative feedback loops, and the behaviors of the system. Examination of industrial systems by system dynamics approach.
