ISL 433 - Employment Law

Course Objectives

1) Teaching the basic concepts of law, the sources of law and employment law in general
2) Teaching the legal framework of employee-employer relations
3) Teaching the legal framework regarding the definition, types, conclusion and termination of the employment contract
4) Teaching the definition of the employee, his difference from similar terms, and his rights and obligations towards the employer.
5) Teaching the definition of the employer and its rights and obligations towards the employee

Course Description

Introduction to law, definition, development, characteristics and resources of employment law. Employee, employer, employer representative, workplace concepts. Establishment of individual business relationship, employment contract, types, making. Obligations arising from the employment contract, the employee's work, obedience and loyalty; the employer's obligation to pay wages, watch over the worker and take equal treatment. Termination of employment contract, job security, severance pay.
