Course Objectives 1. To teach basic concepts of the Law of the Sea.
2. To teach maritime jurisdiction areas.
3. To teach international organizations related to maritime.
4. To teach Marine Environmental Law
5. To teach Maritime Social Security Law.
Course Description Main principles and sources of maritime public law. The law of the sea. Flag and PSC Control. Maritime jurisdiction areas. Internal waters. Territorial seas. Contiguous zone. EEZ. Continental Shelf. High Seas and international disputes related to High Seas. Legal status of Turkish Straits. UN, IMO and other international organizations and their status. International and national rules regarding to marine pollution. Maritime Social Security Law. Maritime Security and ISPS. Protecting the Marine Environment.
