Course Objectives

1. Establishing understanding and reading capability in ship electrical system diagrams.
2. Teaching electrical systems operations and emergency procedures.
3. Teaching problem identification and troubleshooting methods in electrical system and components.
4. Obtaining energy efficiency knowledge in ship electrical systems.

Course Description

Ship electrical generation, distribution, monitoring and control system architecture, network, diagrams and components (automated voltage regulator, synchronization etc.). Normal and emergency electrical system operation in the engine and control rooms. Problem identification and troubleshooting in the electrical generation and distribution system and components. Power systems, electrical consumers and energy efficiency.
