DNK 201E - Dynamics

Course Objectives

Providing the engineering students with the ability of building up dynamic models and solving these models by considering the effects of external forces on ideal objects (particles and rigid bodies) in the scope of Newtonian mechanics.

Course Description

Definitions and basic concepts. Particle kinematics. General linear and planar motion. Relative motion. Particle kinetics. Newton’s laws of motion. Impulse and momentum principles for particle systems. Work and energy for particle systems. Rigid body kinematics. Rigid body kinetics. Impulse and momentum principles for rigid bodies. Work and energy for rigid bodies. General plane motion for rigid bodies.
