Course Objectives

1 - Introduction to the concept of ore deposits via relevant to terminology; Fundamental principles of ore deposits classification; Relationship between ore deposits and host rocks
2 - Introduce to factors causing mineralization and criterion controlling evaluation of ore deposits
3 - Introduce to distribution of ore deposits in Turkey and in the world and The aim of the class is to explain the contributions of mining to country s economics and effect of mining operation on environment

Course Description

History of ore deposits, terminology of ore deposits, geochemical cycle, classification of ore deposits, relationships between ore and host rocks, major theories of ore genesis, examples of the more important types of ore deposits from Turkey and world, assessment critters of ore deposits.
