MAD 471E - Electro-Techniques in Mines

Course Objectives

To teach the fundamental knowledge of electrical engineering and the mining engineering students informed the electrical applications on open and underground mining.

Course Description

In this course, the principles of electrical engineering that is necessary for mining engineering students, and electrical mining applications will be introduced. In additions ac and dc circuits, electrical circuit components, single phase and three phase networks, electrical machines used mining, transformers, power distribution systems, voltage drop calculation, cables, power electronics components and devices, automatic control equipment, sensors, ex-proof classes, ex-proof electrical materials, safety in electrical installation and protection grounding will be introduced according to the mining engineering requirements.
