Course Objectives The course will introduce students tp key text and connects in political theory. Students will learn about some of the key figures in political theory as a way of explaining what political theory is with reference to basic concepts like liberty, justice, political authority, state and commıunity
Course Description Students will study texts in political theory since antiquity. The test are chosen cover the central themes of political theory such as the nature and origin of government, different types of government, power and consent, the nature of law, the relations between individual, society and state.
Course Outcomes Students will acquire the capacity to write short pieces and complete essays about the central topics in political theory. They will learn how to present and discuss these ideas in class. Students will learn about the variety of theories of politics, their historical development, and what is important now in political theory.
