Course Objectives
Main course objectives:
To explore the philosophy of current evolutionary principles and the application those principles in theories of modern systematic biology.
To appreciate the diversity of life and be able to recognize the dominant taxa of living organisms through introduction to the kingdoms of life: the prokaryotes, eukaryotic protists, fungi, animals and plants.
To explore concepts of phylogeny, taxonomy and evolution through modern systematic analyses.
To investigate biodiversity informatics through national and international organizations and databases.
