Course Objectives 1 - To learn the fundamental laws and concepts of electromagnetism
2 - To learn meaning of the Maxwell's equations and able to use them for solving electromagnetic problems
3 - To gain the ability of using the fundamentals of physics in engineering and scientific problems
Course Description Coulombs law and the electric field, Gauss s law, Electric potential, Capacitance, Electric energy and properties of insulator, Current and resistance, Energy and current in DC circuits, The magnetic field, Sources of the magnetic field, Faraday's law, Inductance, Magnetic Fields in Matter, electromagnetic oscillations and AC circuits, Maxwell's equations
Course Outcomes 1 - To calculate the electric field and potentials for point charges and continuous charge distributions
2 - To write the charging and discharging processes of a capacitance and effects of the
3 - To calculate the current and the potential differences for an electric circuit by using Kirchoffs laws,
4 - To calculate the magnetic fields produced by moving charges or currents, and effects of the magnetic field on moving charges or currents carrying wires
5 - To understand and use of the Gauss, Ampere and Faradays laws
6 - To write and use the Maxwell equations containing the relation between the electric and magnetism.
