UUM 523E - Advanced Flight Dynamics

Course Objectives

1- Numerical Calculations on Aircraft Dynamics will be performed for better understanding of the topic.
2- Various programming technics which can be used for flight dynamics analyses will be explained
3- Various available or in class developed computer programs written in FORTRAN or other languages will be used for flight simulations and investigating the aircraft dynamic stability, control and flight performance.

Aircraft Equations of Motion; Aerodynamic and Thrust Forces and Moments; Aircraft three and six degree of freedom trim analyses; Time dependent Numerical Solution of the Nonlinear Aircraft Equations of Motion; Simulation of Various Flight Scenarios; Linearization of the Equations of Motion; Aircraft Dynamic Stability
