UUM 541E - Advanced Propulsion
Course Objectives
To give information at the graduate level on propulsion and propulsion systems which are important in aerospace engineering.
To explain the aerothermodynamics of rockets and air-breathing engines.
To study the details of fluid and thermodynamic behavior in engine component.
To understand the general behavior of engines and the interaction of engines with the vehicles that they power.
Course Description
Thermodynamics of Aircraft Jet Engines; Aerothermodynamics of Inlets, Combustors, and Nozzles; Axial Compressors; Axial Turbines; Performance of Rocket Vehicles; Chemical Rocket Thrust Chambers; Chemical Rocket Propellants.
