Understanding the behavior of shells under various loads, Determining the behavior of simple shells under various loads using shell equations, Understanding complex problems of shell theory, Solving shell problems using various numerical methods.
Course Description
Differential geometry of surfaces, Thin elastic shell theory, Fundamental assumptions, Internal force-displacement relations, Differential equilibrium equations of general shaped shell element, Boundary conditions, Strain energy, Non-bending (membrane) theory of shells, Surface geometry in various forms and in various forms. Unbending solutions of loaded shells, Solution of variously shaped shells that are not rotationally symmetrically loaded, Determination of displacement components, Flexural theory of shells, Deflection theory of rotationally symmetrical shells in rotationally symmetrical deformation, Solution of rotationally symmetrically loaded cylindrical shells, Applications of spherical and cylindrical shells , Shallow shell theories, Approximate calculation methods, Numerical calculation methods, Finite difference and finite element method.
