Course Objectives
To teach composite materials and composite application areas for aerospace applications
To teach the design of composite structures and material selection criteria
To teach the analysis of composite structures
To enable the optimization of composite structures
Course Description
This course covers; Classical laminated plate theory (CLPT), energy methods for composite plates, composite material design principles, damage mechanisms of composite materials, composite material structures and areas of use, the basics of composite beam and plate analysis.
