CHZ 696 - Scientific Research, Ethics and Seminar

Course Objectives

Learning the definition of science and scientific research methods. Learning scientific methodology, research design and data collection methods. Learning the types of scientific publications (thesis, article, report, etc.). Learning the ethical principles that must be followed in scientific research and publication. Evaluating successful presentation techniques, supporting current developments in the field and one's own studies with quantitative and qualitative data, to groups in the field and outside the field, in written, verbal and visual formats.

Course Description

Definition and development of science, scientific research approach, literature analysis, research design, quantitative and qualitative research methods, data collection, thesis, project and scientific article writing techniques, ethical principles to be followed when conducting research, ethical principles to be followed when publishing, ethical principles in reference , points to be considered in order to make a successful presentation, presentations to be made within the scope of the thesis topic/own engineering field.
