Course Objectives Understand the fundamental principles of aeroelasticity, including the interactions between aerodynamics, structural dynamics, and inertial forces in aerospace vehicles.
Analyze and predict the dynamic behavior of aerospace structures under aerodynamic loads, including flutter, divergence, and control surface effectiveness.
Develop proficiency in mathematical modeling techniques for aeroelastic systems, including linear equations of motion, modal analysis, and stability criteria.
Evaluate the impact of aeroelastic effects on aircraft performance, stability, and safety, and propose design solutions to mitigate adverse effects.
Course Description Aeroelasticity is the interdisciplinary field of study that examines the interactions between the aerodynamic forces acting on a structure and its structural dynamics. This course provides students with an in-depth understanding of the fundamental principles, theories, and applications of aeroelasticity in aerospace engineering.
