Course Objectives 1. To allow the student to work with an instructor on an individual topic suited to the needs of the student,
2. To provide an opportunity to conduct in-depth research on a topic under the guidance of an instructor,
3. To help the student develop academic writing skills,
Course Description Reading, discussion, analysis, critique of a topic that will result in a publishable paper or form the basis of a dissertation chapter, Analyze and discuss materials drawn from current publications of texts, recordings, multimedia, and internet sources, Work with the instructor on writing final paper taking into account style and content
Course Outcomes 1. The ability to identify a topic that can be researched within a given time-frame,
2. Deeper knowledge of the academic literature related to their specific area of interest,
3. Knowledge about the constraints and procedures of writing towards a particular publication goal, i,e,, for a particular academic audience,
4. Competency to develop new perspectives on the chosen topic,
