Course Objectives
Graduate students with different backgrounds will;
1) Develop a better understanding about the role of statistical thinking in management and engineering applications.
2) Develop the ability of analytical thinking.
3) Enrich their knowledge of data analysis necessary for other courses of the program.
4) Learn the techniques used for data analysis in detail and develop the ability to make inferences.
5) Learn to perform statistical analyses with software packages.
Course Description
Data Collection, Processing, and Summarizing, Basics of Probability, Probability Distributions, Sampling and Estimation Theory, Basicis of Statistical Decision Making, Basic Concepts of Statistical Thinking and Analysis (Variance Analysis, Regression Analysis, Cluster Analysis, Classification Analysis, and Modeling Approaches), Assumptions and Analyses, Applications with Software Packages.
