Course Objectives
The purpose of the course;
1. To give information about E-Logistics concept and components
2. To understand the contents of Intelligent Transportation Systems
3. To establish a general framework for integration of e-logistics concept with transportation systems
4. To understand e-logistics applications for maritime logistics elements
5. To explain e-logistics processes in global framework
Course Description
Definition and historical development of E-logistics, ICT and logistics, Intelligent transport systems, E-Logistics for transport modes, Electronic bills of lading, Port-centric ICT system, B2c E-commerce and fulfilment, The challenges of E-Commerce on warehousing in the future, Advanced warehouse management systems and innovations, RFID in logistics, Automating logistics service chain, Single window systems for global supply chain management, Eu Maritime transport single windows (MSWs), ICT in multimodal transport and technological trends.
Course Outcomes
The students who successfully complete this course gain knowledge, skills and competence in the following subjects;
I. have knowledge about e-logistics and ICT concepts.
II. connect intelligent transport systems with e-logistics.
III. learn the applications of e-logistics processes in transportation systems.
