Course Objectives 1. To provide the students with a theoretical and critical approach on Islamic art history via art and architecture works and productions.
2. To analyze the relationship between Islamic and Turkish culture and its effects on the production process.
3. To comprehend the relationship between the productions of art and architecture.
Course Description Islamic Art and Architecture between 7th-18th centuries. Manuscripts and Arts of the Books. Metalwork. Woodwork. Textiles. Tiles and Ceramics. Religious, vernacular, and public architecture and its decoration.
Course Outcomes 1. analyze the productions of art and architecture of a specific period of the Islamic world,
2. conceive the relationships and interaction between art and architecture,
3. evaluate the differences and resemblances of different cultures via the productions of art and architecture,
4. apprehend the artworks via critical and theoretical approaches genuine to the art history discipline,
5. conduct academic and scientific research,
6. present and evaluate the research in an academic and scientific environment.
