Course Objectives

Course aims to
1.introduce the legal tools to be used for the protection of the ideas,
2.discuss the appropriate type for protection of the ideas,
3.discuss the means to exclude others from using the subject matter of an intellectual property right,
4.analyze the legal alternatives to be used in commercializing the ideas.

Course Description

Intellectual property rights, concept, scope, historical evolution and sources, global applications, types of intellectual property rights: copyright, trademarks, trade secrets and patents, conditions of protection, infringement and the claims of the right holder, commercialization of the intellectual property rights, license agreements in particular.
