Course Objectives
1. To give basic knowledge about automatic control systems.
2. To give knowledge and gain experience about automatic control systems implemented on ships.
3. To give knowledge and gain experience about fault diagnosis and on maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical and electronic automation components.
Course Description
Fundamentals of automatic control. PID, cascade automatic and direct digital controllers. Position, temperature, level automatic control systems. Electric and electronic automation components and equipments. PLC and PIC controllers. Microprocessor control system, microprocessor, parallel I/O, D/A and A/D converters. Digital I/O programming. Software control. Automatic control applications on ships. Ship automatic control systems, fault diagnostics and maintenance
