FIZ 101E - Physics I

Course Objectives

The course objective is
1.to be able to write equations of motion for simple mechanical systems, and to integrate these equations.
2.In cases where direct integration is not feasible, students are expected to make predictions based on conservation laws.

Course Description

Vectors. Motion in one and two dimensions. Newton's laws and its applications. Work and energy. Conservation of mechanical energy. Momentum and motion of systems. Static equilibrium of rigid bodies. Rotation and angular momentum. Newton's law of universal
gravitation.
