ING 201 - Academic Research Paper Writing

Course Description

The end product of the course is a correctly-documented minimum 3,5 and maximum 4,5 pages of a research paper based on at least 5 sources of information and written on a subject relevant to students’ particular faculties.

The course teaches skills including library research, topic selection, construction and defense of a thesis statement, outlining, note taking, citing sources, and organizing a “References” page. Critical elements of the course are instruction in paraphrasing and summarizing techniques, use of quotations and the avoidance of plagiarism.
