Dersin Amaçları

The course aims to :
a)Introduce and endear the mechanical engineering profession to the high school graduates accepted to the program as new students,
b)Introduce the ITU Mechanical Engineering program,
c)Introduce the fields of specialization in mechanical engineering.

Mechanical Engineering : profession, education and practice. ITU Department of Mechanical Engineering : mission, vision, program and the facilities. History of mechanical engineering. Introduction to topics and vocabulary of mechanical engineering : Mechanical properties and mechanics of materials, thermo-fluids, machine design. Professional societies and ethics. Case studies and invited lectures from the industry.
