JDM 566E - Earthquake Geology

Course Objectives

To give the students the necessary mathematical background to investigate the mechanics of earthquakes (both inter-seismic and co-seismic). To discuss eartquakes of various mechanisms and magnitudes occurring on the globe in the geologic context.

Course Description

To investigate the physics of earthquakes witin the frame of elasticity theory and examining the observations in the lifht of this knowledge.
