Course Objectives

1) Examining the cities since the ancient times;
2) Investigation research methodologies on urban history;
3) Investigating the relationship between cities and industry, politics and economics throughout the history;
4) Studying the impacts of various concepts such as migration, energy use, sustainability and digital technologies on the present-day cities.

Course Description

Concept of a city since the ancient times; methodologies of urban history; impacts of political power on cities, impacts of religious authority on cities; economic models and cities; cities and industry; digital technologies; climate change/natural disasters and cities.
