Course Objectives Course aims:
1. Effectively use of color and light in interior decoration,
2. Create desired atmosphere taking form, material, texture, color and light into
consideration,
3. Choose proper fixtures and fabrics in accordance with color planning and
lighting decisions.
Course Description Color and light as interior design tools, basic color knowledge, color theories and
systems, color planning techniques, correlation between color and space perception,
analyze usage of color in surfaces and interior fixtures, creation of desired atmosphere
utilizing light, light value, surface-light coloring, form and changing of texture, choosing
fabric materials in view of color and light.
Course Outcomes Students who successfully pass this course gain the following knowledge, skills and
competencies:

I. The knowledge about color, color theory and systems
II. The knowledge and skill about using color scheme techniques in different
function spaces.
III. The skill and competency about using effective light for create an interior
atmosphere.
IV. The competency about using form and texture according to color and light
decisions
V. The competency for choosing fabrics according to design criteria.
