Course Objectives 1. To transfer theoretical knowledge as a cross-section between disciplines of City and Regional Planning and Economic Sciences
2. To enhance students capability to analyse economic activities in space and spatial analysis to improve the authority to resolve the urban phenomenon
Course Description Changes within the urban economy and production processes; from industry to knowledge economy; relationships between urban growth and development; spatial distribution of economic activities; agglomerations and the factors behind; urban rent; real estate development; urban policy and public finance
Course Outcomes 1. Metropolitan cities, big cities and other cities in different size differences between the systems, and structural differences and planning approach and method
2. City centers and sub-centers, industrial areas, service areas, MIA
3. The effect of social, physical and economical features on planning
4. Regional scale development of planning policies, strategies and decision-making process
5. Relationship between the changing production process, economic functions and urbanization
