Course Objectives To provide planning skills for future renewal, revival, sanitation, conservation and design policies, strategy and action plans within the framework of possible scenarios in the existing settlement and development areas of the city by associating the spatial, legal, financial, ethical and socio-political dimensions of urban planning.
Course Description Determination of action areas in present and development areas according to 1/5000 scale strategic plan decisions, determination of scenario alternatives, evaluation of legal frame work and the planning and desing of housing, recreation, facilities and functional areas.

Group Works
Analysis and reports at 1/2000 and/or 1/1000 and other appropriate scales for the Detailed Local Plan;
• Natural Environment Analysis –
o Elevation, slope, aspect, wind analysis, etc.
• Built Environment Analysis
o Building use and attributes, urban facilities and accessibility analysis, construction density (BCR, FAR, etc.), population density, accessibility, transportation projections, pattern analysis, visual analysis.
• Socio-economic Analyses
o Cost-benefit analysis (prepared when necessary)
o and social structure analysis.
• Thematic Analysis
Individual Works
• Synthesis derived from the natural environment, built environment, socio-economic environment, and other thematic analysis
• Defining action areas for the Detailed Local Plan, the spatial design of different characteristic areas of the city (Historical city center, development area etc.), a model for the selected development area, and 3-d modeling/visualizations (up to student’s decision).
o Urban Protected Area Design Project
o Residential Area (A re-evaluation will be made within the group. Depending on the situation (in case of concentration on the urban protected area, etc.), it may not be desired.)
o Development Area Design Project
• Urban Protected Area Implementation Plan for Conservation Purpose, Plan Notes and Plan Explanation Report
• Development Area Implementation Plan, Plan Notes and Plan Explanation Report

IMPORTANT NOTE 2: The data that will be used more frequently in this project can be accessed from the Drive folder below.
