Course Objectives
1. To introduce students to the profession and ethics of industrial design.
2. To provide students with information about current design issues.
3. To introduce the fundamental components of the discipline, such as the designer, product, process, producer, use and user, production, materials, function, etc.
4. To provide information on the fundamental knowledge and skills required for industrial design.

Design, Product and Industry Concepts, Historical Development of the Profession, Professional Ethics, Function-Form and User Concepts, Design Process: System, Problem and Solution, The Role of Research, The Relationship of Design with Engineering, Materials and Production Technologies, Fundamentals of Human Factors, Product Design in the Context of Culture and Meaning, Product Design in the Context of Sustainability and Social Responsibility, The Role of Information Technologies and New Social Trends, Product Design in the Context of Economy and Innovation, Current and Global Design Issues.
