Course Objectives The rising importance of regional science all over the world makes also important to teach the main contents of regional science and its contributions to city and regional planning students.
Course Description The course includes the topics such as regional planning and regional science concepts, the evolution of regional planning and regional science, regional growth and development, regional inequalities, regional analysis and regional planning approaches.
Course Outcomes During the semester, each student is expected to make a research and to prepare a term paper and presentation on a selected subject related to course topics. There will be a midterm and a final exam. Active participation during the lectures and presentation of a term paper will be individually evaluated and a mid-term grade will be determined on the basis of this evaluation.

Required Facilities Course Format and Requirements:
• Students are expected to read articles in the reading list.
• Students are responsible from the reading list and all course subjects and materials for the midterm and final exam.
• Student participation to the courses and discussions is also expected.
Other Term Papers:
• Term paper subjects will be determined beforehand, within the term.
• References that will be used in term papers should be primarily articles in academic books and journals in any language. Internet resources can be only used as supporting materials.
• The students are expected to give an outline and abstract (1-3 pages) with the reference list on 26/10/2015. Term paper submission will be on 14/12/2015 and simultaneously paper presentations will be started.
• The format and the page layout of term papers should be as following:
Font: Times New Roman 12 pt
Row Spacing: 1
Margin: Top: 3cm, Sides and bottom: 2,5 cm.
Paragraph Spacing: Before and after 6pt.
Page number : Minimum 10 page, (except for maps, tables and references)
(If there are many maps and tables, please add them as appendices)
