Course Objectives 1. Teaching the basic surveying and problem-solving methods
2. Teaching the usage of the geodesic instruments, and field applications for different surveying methods
3. Giving a sound and fundamental understanding of the basic scientific, mathematical and engineering principles underlying technology and develop the ability to analyze, interpret and apply survey data
Course Description Fundamentals of basic surveying, problem-solving methods, using of the geodesic instruments, and field applications.
Course Outcomes Students who pass the course will be able to:
1. Produce raw location based survey data based on the standards digitally
2. Produce raw elevation based survey data based on the standards digitally
3. Use the basic surveying equipment skillfully
4. Offer attributes for the objects of the feature catalog based on ISO 19110 (2006+A1 2011)
5. Establish the metadata structure of the measurement work based on ISO 19115(2005)
Pre-requisite(s) 1. Acceptable Homeworks should be delivered within due date for taking the final exam.
2. Compulsory questions, within the mid-term exams should be answered correctly for taking the final exam.
3. All compulsory questions should be answered correctly within the final exam, in order to pass the course
Required Facilities 1. A calculator with a gon computation capability.
2. Regulation book for large scale map production for Turkey by HKMO
Other There will be applications of the surveying procedures on the field that were mentioned in the course to provide the skills of instruments in use.
