Course Objectives 1. According to TLSMPR designing a geodetic network. Surveying with terrestrial and GPS techniques. Calculating coordinate, height, geoid height and accuracy, analyzing the results
2. Analyzing cost and applicability.
3. Understanding principles of working together and producing (roles, relationships between people)
4. Evaluating.understanding report writing (in view of form, content, expression) writing and presenting effectively
Course Description In ITU Campus area and surroundings (5 km2 ),according to Turkish Large Scale Map and Mapping Information Production Regulation (TLSMMIPR),for “densification of C3 Level points for the mapping surveyings” project;
• Surveying by both terrestrial and GPS techniques,
• Designing a C3 level geodetic network
• Establishing the network
The network will be surveyed by terrestrial techniques (angles, distances).Data will be saved by GPS receivers.ED-50 coordinates of points and heights which are tied to TUDKA will be calculated by least squares method. Coordinates of points which are tied to TUTGA will be calculated by using GPS Software (SKI, BERNESE).Geoit heights and orthometric heights of points will be calculated by using geoid models.
Computed coordinates, heights and accuracies of terrestrial techniques and GPS techniques will be compared and results will be interpreted. Costs of two techniques will be analyzed according to charts of Municipality Bank.
Costs, accuracies and time will be compared and their manufacturability and sustainability will be evaluated.
A project report will be written and presented.
