Course Objectives
The aim of the course on International Trade is to cover international aspects of economics with regard to trade. In an era of continuously globalizing economies, discussions on its merits and disadvantages of are increasing too. The course aims in providing the theoretical basis of free trade versus protection, especially focusing on new trade theories and introduction to European Union, an economic integration where Turkey seeks full membership. You will be expected to understand international trade, as well as knowing how to track down up-to-date materials on the web.
Course Description
Classical theory of trade, followed by the new trade theories constitute the main part of the course. Alternative trade policies will also be discussed with regards to developed versus developing countries.
