Course Objectives 1. To give thorough knowledge of content, application and intent of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972, as amended
2. To teach the tasks and responsibilities of watchkeeping personnel.
Course Description History of development of International Collision Regulations, International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972, as amended, the tasks and responsibilities of watchkeeping personnel, Lights and shapes, Sound and Lights Signals to be displayed by ships.
Course Outcomes Students who pass the course will be able to;
I. Learn tasks and responsibilities of the watchkeeping personnel.
II. Learn the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs).
III. Learn the appendices of COLREGs.
IV. Gain ability of the application of COLREGs.
