MAK 305 - System Dynamics and Control

Course Objectives

1. To provide mechanical engineering students with fundamental knowledge of system dynamics and automatic control.
2. To introduce basic controller design methods, enriched with practical examples.

Course Description

This course will teach the fundamentals of system dynamics and control. The course will cover differential equation solutions using the Laplace method, linearization, system modeling, constructing state-space models, and methods for deriving transfer functions. Transient analysis and stability analysis of linear systems will be conducted, focusing on basic control algorithms and structures, and PID tuning methods. Finally, frequency response analysis of systems will be demonstrated, and basic controller design methods and examples will be discussed.
