Course Objectives
The main purpose of the course is to assure that the understandig of the basic concepts of geology and the main properties of the earth.
Course Description
General Geology is an introduction course to the Solid Earth System. This course outlines the way Earth works externally and internally. It presents the earth materials and geological structures, processess and history in terms of the plate tectonics theory. The Earth's Interior: Plate Tectonics, Oceanic and Continental Crust, Geological Structures and Deformation, Earthquakes and Natural Hazards, Surface of the Earth, Earth materials: Minerals & Rocks, Geologic Time Scale, Earth History and the Climate System.
