Course Objectives 1. To provide the occurrence and availability of groundwater in geological formations
2. To give an ability to investigate the location, quantity and quality of groundwater
3. To provide how to obtain groundwater
Course Description Hydrologic cycle, Occurrence Distribution and Movement of Groundwater, The Darcy’s Law,
Aquifers, Water Table Maps, Surface water-Groundwater interaction, Artificial Recharge of
Groundwater, Groundwater Hydraulics, Groundwater Chemistry, Karstic Aquifers - Coastal
Aquifers, and Sea Water Intrusion, Occurrence of Geothermal Waters, Water Well Drilling
Techniques, Groundwater law
Course Outcomes Students who pass this course will be able to
1. Apply groundwater survey methods
2. Calculate the hydraulic properties of aquifers
3. Interpret the chemistry of groundwater related to the geological formations
4. Investigate the effecting factors of groundwater quality and quantity
5. Design the efficient utilization techniques of groundwater
