3. To provide students with chemical, physical, and thermodynamic properties of oil and natural gas,
4. To expose the students to concepts and ideas about today’s issues involving the petroleum and natural gas engineering in general
Course Description
Introduction to energy, petroleum and natural gas industry. Energy, oil and natural gas in Turkey and in the world, statistics and general knowledge. Origin, composition and fluid properties of petroleum and natural gas. Types of oil and natural gas reservoirs. Surface production equipment. Transportation of oil and natural gas. Enhanced recovery methods. Environmental concerns.
